Load testing was conducted by applying load increments using a hydraulic ram. The applied load was measured using a calibrated pressure gauge. Pile movements were measured by two dial gauge extensometer with an accuracy of one one-thousandth of an inch.  All the load increments were maintained for a period of at least four minutes during loading. During unloading, the increments were maintained for four minutes.

The dial gauge readings were recorded at the beginning, 0.5, 1 and 4 minutes. Field compression load test run in accordance to ASTM D 1143-07 (Quick Test Procedure section 8.1.2). These standards specify how the load tests are to be run including how much load increment is to be applied, how long to maintain each load increment, how to unload the piles, and how load frames and measurement devices are to be setup.
